Thirty Five

It was 03-03-09. I learnt from yahoo that it is an important date - one in 16 days - called as Square Root days. It is simple - 3 multiplied by 3 gives 9. For the next Square Root day you got wait for sometime. It comes on 04-04-(20)16.

Well - the hullaballo is for the date - my birthday (ha....so much for nothing).

I turned 35 on this day. Since I was not having much meetings on that date - I braved to take a day off and spend sometime with my family. Usha prepared little sweet called Kesari (my mom too used to prepare the same dish every other birthday) - it is nothing but a sweet made with cream of wheat. We performed small puja. Back home I used to visit couple of temples on these days offering prayers. But being at Lincoln, we do not have the liberty at going to a temple at the drop of hat. Though not far - we need to drive 40 miles to Omaha the biggest city of Nebraska.

I took my family for lunch to a nearby Indian Restaurant - called as The Oven. The day being Karthiga Nakshathira (an auspicious day for Lord Muruga) - we avoided taking meat. Went for couple of vegetarian dishes and it was good. Rest of the time was idle. I always felt idle when I do not work on a day :)

There were couple of phone calls and few e-greetings. Replied them and that's it - the day went of like any other day - except adding one more year to me :-)
